yay! i hate halloween too! and ironically, when i was a kid, i only dressed up as a black cat when i did dress up (ok, except when i was five and i was wonder woman). pumpkin is about the harvest, not about halloween, so no need to defend that! i choose to honor dias de los muertos (day of the dead) which was the origin of halloween and is all about honoring those we have lost. a much more beautiful way of celebrating. google it - you might find parades in your area and it's very kid friendly (and still involves face painting!). :)

I'm with you on Halloween for the exact same reason you said; we teach our kids no candy from strangers....and then, yep! I've said that for years! always was glad to have that holiday over with when the kids were younger

Connie is cute! Sorry to hear about Rusty being unemployed; hoping he goes back soon.....
