lazy day

Today it was so nice to just be able to sleep in!
I really have not done anything to productive today, but I did get unpacked and I got our bedroom cleaned up, so that is good.
While I was home I found a picture of mt when I was about one. My grandfather was holding me and he was just smiling. There are not that many pictures of me and that grandfather, so I now treasure that picture. I took the picture to Walgreen's and I had a copy made of it. I also added the text, "guess who?" No one has guessed it. They are all shocked when I tell them that is me. I was such a cute baby and my grandfather was very handsome!
I hear people talk about facebook all the time. I even went to the home page and I thought about getting an account there, but I just can't bring myself to do that. I found out that someone posted my sister's death on facebook. I am kinda interested in seeing what was said, but I am scared to see it. It all most seems like the people from high school have never grown up. I don't know. I am just struggling with that.
Tonight I am going down to the vfw. We are having a dinner for the firemen who saved our post from burning to the ground. I don't really want to go, but it is important to Rusty, so I will be there for him. Besides I need to get into the swing of things again.
Amber starts classes on Monday. This semester she will be taking a computer class, and yoga. I think Amber is going to be a yoga instructor. She is so good at it and she loves that class. I don't really care what she majors in as long as she is happy.
We need to work on Amber's car. It took a crap while I was in Chicago. We did not worry about then, but now we have to get it fixed. I just hope that it is not expensive to repair. I am just hoping for an easy fix!
I better go get ready to go meet Rusty.

I am on Facebook (I LOVE it!) and if you want me to check anything out for you, let me know. It's a great place to touch base with family and friends, but I can understand your hesitancy. I'm glad you are getting out tonight and I hope you have a great time. You've had a rough week and you need some YOU time!

((hugs))

I was totally against facebook, until a grammer school friend convinced me to join because there were friends I have not even spoken to since 8th grade. 1982. I reconnected with most of them on facebook and A LOT of friends from my past. Also came across some writings of bad times that I was associated with, death and such. Its an experience....take the leap.

I bet finding that picture with you and your grandfather was like finding buried treasure so to speak; a great find!! I'm sure it will hold a special spot for you in your heart and will be treasured!

I reluctantly joined Facebook when invited by a friend and I have to say I'm liking it more and more with each passing day; I like that I can just write a little snippet on someone's page (they call it wall there for some reason) and stay in touch with them; its kind of like text messaging done by the computer. I haven't even tried to find friends from high school (can't remember too many of them LOL) but just keeping up with friends from online,my old friends from Montana, my sister/family over in the Netherlands, etc is a good thing

hope you had a good time tonight at the VFW

I'm on Facebook and everytime I put someone's name in the search engine I get zero zip nadda. I don't know how everyone's finding everyone. I'm lost. That would be horrible to stumble upon information like what might be lurking from your family. That baby picture is invaluable and I'm so glad you snagged it. I'll be you were a cutie pie that any grandparent would be proud of. You've had such a hard week you two deserve some time together. I hope Amber's car is an easy fix.
I hope you've had a chance to take a breath or two now that you are home.

Take care,
Nelishia

Well the good thing about Facebook is you have to accept people as your friend or they can't view your wall so that is something to think about. I mean you could just ignore the requests if you didn't want to add the people from school.
I'm on there and I like it because it seems easier to say hey to people. I mean I would never blog on there, but it's nice for simple things and easy because all your friends are in one place you don't have to search everywhere like on MySpace and blogger.
Hope the car gets taken care of and not expensive.
Take care, Chrissie
